Actually, it IS useful for grinds! If you're grinding an edge of a quarterpipe, you can actually just lose your balance in the direction of the quarterpipe, and then revert. This resets your balance meter, which is useful. THAW's green/red balance meter takes that into consideration.

I'm pretty sure that's an anti-whore mechanic in THUG2 triggering. When you do a trick too many times in a combo it will actually start deducting from your base score. Sometimes it might even deduct from the multiplier, but that's only when you go too far with it. The easiest way to see it happen is...

Yeah this is due to my patch that allows you to skate under floating/stacked Cap objects, they don't allow you normally to skate under the objects because in case the first collision detection (from the mesh) fails it would catch it, but I disabled that so some objects with sub par collision meshs ...

I think the biggest hurdle is to make a system to reasonably modify the playlist used in-game, which so far has been fruitless.

So, the FreeCam mode is fantastic, but sadly it can be abused in multiplayer.
As a fix for it, I'd say make it only possible to use freecam if the gamemode is free skate. It would allow players to still use the function without breaking the gameplay for others.
