thug2 was down on gamespy long ago, wasnt it? i remember i couldnt play online using default exe.

yeah, Gamespy was gone for it.
It'd crash with the default exe, but using modded ones you could still get in thanks to Openspy. Was maybe a little less active than THPS3, but still active.
THUG2 is back online now because chc fixed it
