Postby RainbowDash321 » Fri Jun 17, 2016 1:42 pm

Welcome to Tony Hawk's Gameboy Advance hacks. These stuff here are for editing Career/Story Scripts, Goals, Gaps, Graphics, and more. What are you waiting for? Get to hacking.

My first tutorial video is out for Tony Hawk's UnderGround. You need to watch this tutorial very carefully.
The Video Tutorials will be far behind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC_sBTEQsfI

Update:
There will be pattern files for YY-CHR for Tony Hawk GBA games.
There will be pallette files for YY-CHR for Tony Hawk GBA games.

Q: Why are we using Hex Editor?
A: There's no programs made for these games. If somebody is a programmer and really interested making .exe and sources for these games.

Q: Are we able to patch gba games?
A: Yes we are able to patch games using Lunar IPS.

Q: Are we able to edit graphics?
A: Yes we are able to edit graphics using YY-CHR

Q: When will I release other stuff for other Tony Hawk gba games?
A: It will take weeks until further notice

If your game crashed...It means you did something to cause that to happen.

Stay updated for more releases.

For people who don't know how to use Lunar IPS
---------------------------------------------------------
1: Download Lunar IPS (http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/)
2: Extract the folder
3: Open Lunar IPS program
4: Click on "Create IPS" Button
5: Select the original Tony Hawk gba rom and Select Tony Hawk gba rom hack
6: To apply Tony Hawk rom hack and play it...you just need to rename the original rom. EX: "THUG (hack).ips" and "THUG (hack).gba"

This is very interesting as it has been unexplored territory to my knowledge. Looking forward to this.

I've explored it quite a bit, as well as DS. With THPS games specifically, I always preferred using codes vs ips mods because ips mods are permanent. This was a while back when it was more common to see someone with a gba codebreaker than a gba flashcart. I've messed with ips modding with pokemon to change the map / storyline, and with pokemon again on PokeMMO to change the tiles.

This is really cool specifically because you can use ips to change the game in a huge way, maybe even kick out a THUG PRO GBA Version (LOL), however the tools simply don't exist like they do for major titles like pokemon. If you're playing THPS on GBA and want to use codes, the official list of codebreaker/gameshark codes is on point, and if you want anything else, you can use the VisualBoy emulator, which has a built in ram browser and editor, very similar to what you see with Cheat Engine, and create your own codes all day long.

I'd love to see what all you produce as it's always refreshing to see the products of a fresh mind in the community. Keep at it, and if you haven't messed with VisualBoy, try it, you could kick out an impressive list of codes in an hour with little to no experience. Also, if you're going to continue working on these ips mods, look into converting the already established official codebreaker/gameshark codes to your list of ips mods, as it is simple and will make this list grow immensely overnight. I don't have any of my personal codes left (it's been years since I touched a thps gba game) or I'd be glad to contribute, and if anything comes of this, I'll be glad to download VisualBoy and throw a few addresses at you that I come up with.

Edit: I see in your video that you're playing on PSP, so it looks like you may not be able to use a codebreaker/gameshark rom, since nobody ever cracked one to boot back to the psp emulator menu after you enable the cheats. I'm pretty sure you can still make it all happen with ips patching.

Extremely late edit: it's VisualBoy not VirtualBoy lol
